2025 INChurch Fast
We believe prayer and fasting changes things! When we take the initiative to fast, we practice biblical values that Jesus first modelled for us. The act of fasting is sacrificing one of our most essential daily routines. Instead of satisfying our own flesh, we are standing in the gap, praying for our mission partners.
Commencing on Monday 3 February we are going to undertake 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting. We are so excited that this year’s daily devotional is written by Pastors & leaders across our INChurch locations in Canberra, Phoenix, Sydney & Melbourne. This will be a corporate time of prayer and fasting. We will be announcing Dates & Locations for Prayer Meetings soon. We are encouraging everyone to consider a “Daniel type” fast, which is not fasting from all food, but simplifying one’s diet to fruit, vegetables, water & juice. There is no legalism at all. We simply invite you to join in and seek the Lord together.
Suggestions for Fasting
Fasting is a powerful practice. When we take the initiative to fast and pray, we practice biblical values that Jesus first modeled for us. Fasting is an act of self-denial for the sake of spiritual focus. Instead of satisfying our own flesh and desires, we are focusing on the needs of our mission’s partners.
Join us: Fasting a meal or two a day
Turn down technology/media and turn up prayer and time in the Word.
Use our guide to pray each day for our 21 mission partners throughout the nations.
Pray in community, in person and/or online.
We advise you to personally seek the Lord and ask Him what you should do during this fast and we encourage all who are able, totruly give God their best. W e also advise you to seek a physician’s advice before you approach any type of fasting. Certain individuals may need to limit how they fast because of their physical condition, illness, age or energy needs.
